Cindy Rajaratnam joins IMed

Where are you from?

I have grown up around Chipping Norton in The Cotswolds, so very near to IMed HQ.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I always wanted to be a PE teacher because I loved sports – and I still do!

And your career so far?

My professional background has been in Sales and Client facing roles for the last 12 years – most recently with a Telecoms and Energy business. But I have always worked in Health & Fitness Industry as well; Fitness Instructing, Gym Management, and as a Personal Trainer. I just can’t seem to give it up – I am still teaching 2 classes each week at my local Leisure Centre. One is a Circuits class and the other focuses on Core Conditioning.

So how did you find your way to IMed?

The best way – through a friend at IMed, who I worked with before and knew my history in Sales and Sales Support! She let me know about the upcoming Sales Team opportunity. Personal development is important to me and so I looked more into IMed and what with my Health obsession and IMed’s exciting growth plans, I was hooked.

Why does our industry interest you?

Understanding the vast changes to patients that some of these devices can make is enticing. To be able to contribute to this with my sales background, building rapport with Medical Device & IVD manufacturers AND strategic partners, felt like an excitement and worthwhile commitment.

What appealed to you about this role and IMed?

IMed is expanding and being able to join the team now gives me the opportunity to develop and grow with them. They are a local company with strong relationships and they encourage staff development– what’s not to like?

And when you’re not smashing sales targets, where can we find you?

Doing sports, sports and sports! Weekdays are gym days! Lockdown provided me with a new passion for walking and bizarrely kind of changed my life – delivering  me a fiancé, Saskia, who I met whilst walking! We still enjoy weekends walking out and about, although we are having a temporary slow-down because our first child is due in August – and we are super-excited!

So, is there anything else interesting about Darren Clarke that we really should know?

When I’m not walking up mountains for charity (with a cider ready for the top), I enjoy soaking up the sun, movies, and of all strange things……cleaning cars.
