Cindy Rajaratnam joins IMed

Meet Ellie Mills

Where are you from?

I was born in Watford, but I’ve lived in the Cotswolds for the last 12 years. I’ve also lived and worked in Mallorca for a couple of years, which I really love and regularly go back to, but now just for holidays!

What were you doing before IMed?

Most recently I’ve been working in Sales in the telecommunications sector. I loved the high energy nature of that role, speaking with clients & working with a great team. But I missed the marketing side in this role; I enjoy the creative side and the client comms.

What other jobs have you done?

After I left Drama School (yes I’m fairly gregarious as a person!) I decided not to head for Hollywood, but went straight into Hospitality and this led to me training in Sailing school to work on Superyachts. I really enjoyed the interaction with guests and became Chief Stewardess and did 2 seasons round the Med. It was really hard work but I saw some great parts of Europe from the sea and started out in Social Media Marketing in a really small way. I went on to work with Jet 2 in Client Services, whilst studying Digital Media and returned to the UK to pursue Sales & Marketing full time and this has finally led me to IMed.

So, what appealed to you about Medical Devices & IMed?

I think that helping people is something I always strive to do. Being a part of IMed really allows me to contribute to a supply chain which protects and benefits patients and Medical Device Manufacturers, who are bringing great devices to market. I love the notion that their inventions of hardware or software medical devices, are developed into something that could change or improve a patient’s life. Now – in a small way – even my Sales & Marketing input can help put IMed in touch with more manufacturers who we can work with to bring more devices to market and this feels so worthwhile.

What did you think you wanted to be when you were a child?

I love animals, so I wanted to be a Vet or Veterinary Nurse. As I got older, I realised that in reality I would not be able to deal with animals in pain or worse! So, I’ve settled for having my own animals and I looking after, train and love them as much as possible (some would say like a baby!). IMed’s LinkedIn followers will already have met my dog Fleur – or should I say IMed’s Director of Cuteness?

Tell us about the new role – what does it involve?

I’m going to be looking after all the client data and communications, Sales Admin, Marketing Campaigns, Content planning and creation and all the sales systems. So, I’ll be backing up the Sales function, taking care of task for new clients and keeping our content customer focused!

And what do you do for fun?

I am a family girl – so lots of time spent with Parents and Grandparents, whether that be, Sunday Roasts, wine tasting, Cheltenham Races, holidays abroad or just having a walk & a picnic & playing with my niece and nephew, we are always getting together round the Cotswolds. I also visiting my in-laws and best friends over in Mallorca whenever I can.

What else should we know about Ellie Mills?

I love movies, I try a bit of amateur Dog Training in my spare time, I’ve developed a recent interest in learning about nutrition and how it can benefit your body – oh and I’m crazy about all dogs and Christmas!

Well it sounds like you’ll fit right in at IMed then as we are all obsessed with our pets and Christmas is almost upon us too!
Welcome aboard Ellie, we all look forward to working with you!
